In Product Review by Marjorie M. T. Langer

“Diamonds are forever.” Let’s celebrate this iconic slogan with nine beautiful diamond watches that will surely mesmerize you. Before you feast your eyes on some of the most irresistible timepieces you’ll ever see, I want to make it clear that luxury diamond watches aren’t just about the bling. Expect to see models with just the right amount of sparkle.

Diamonds Are a Girls Best Friend

What should you consider when choosing a luxury diamond timepiece?

Focusing on diamond watches alone, there are a few things you need to think about. Check these out:

The Placement of Diamonds

There are only two factors in mind when we talk about the arrangement of diamonds on a watch.

If you really love sparkly accessories, then don’t hesitate to buy a watch that’s decorated with diamonds from its dial to its bracelet. This timepiece is definitely perfect for exclusive parties.

Luxury Diamond Watches

Diamonds Everywhere

However, if you’d ask me, I prefer a watch with fewer diamonds. I think a watch is more appealing if the diamonds are placed around the bezel only.

Diamond hour markers can also enhance the watch’s dial without overpowering the entire design. They look even better on a white or blue mother-of-pearl dial. Mother-of-pearl gives a dreamy effect on the dial, which is perfect for the diamond markers.

The Materials

Aside from diamonds, you clearly have to consider the main material of the watch. Off the top of my head, I’d say white gold is the best material out there to complement the sparkle of diamonds.

Other excellent materials to pair with diamonds are stainless steel, yellow gold, rose gold, and platinum.

Ceramic & Diamonds

If you want a more unique combination, black ceramic surprisingly works with diamonds. It’s all about the well-thought-out placement of the gemstones.

The Carat and Shape of the Diamonds

I think it’s also helpful to consider the quality of the watch’s diamonds. In particular, I’m going to focus on two important factors: the carat and shape (cut).

I can’t stress this enough – carat doesn’t exactly mean size. It actually refers to the diamond’s weight.

While rings can go as heavy as five carats, watches are more on the lightweight diamonds for a smaller cut. Timepieces use 0.25- and 0.5-carat diamonds most of the time.

Meanwhile, when it comes to the shape, watches use three basic cuts: round, princess (square), and baguette (rectangle).

The round brilliant cut is probably the most popular one. It is typically placed around bezels.

You can also see a lot of princess cuts on timepieces. They look more attractive as hour markers.

Lastly, the baguette cut is less popular than the two but typically used for more expensive watches. It is ideal for rectangular and square cases.

Next, let’s have a closer look at the features of each watch model.

If you’re curious about what I have to say about each timepiece on the comparison table, then go ahead and learn more about the chosen diamond watches below:

TAG Heuer Formula 1 WAH1215.BA0861

Luxury Diamond Watches TAG Heuer Formula 1

TAG Heuer Formula 1

Here’s a proof on how effective it is to put all the diamonds around the bezel.

To enhance the luxurious look without the excessive appeal, TAG Heuer Women’s Formula 1 Watch WAH1215.BA0861 uses a wider bezel to hold more diamonds. This provides texture on the watch to complement the plain look of the dial and bracelet.

It goes without saying that this timepiece is ideal for women who like to keep it simple. This watch is great for casual and office use.

I should also highlight the 200-meter water resistance of this watch. Out of all the watches here, this timepiece is the only one you can wear while swimming for a long time.

The 200-meter water resistance doesn’t necessarily mean that this watch is made for swimmers. It’s more of a durability factor to prevent damage in case of an accidental submersion.

Unfortunately, there are much better options if you want a dress watch. I won’t recommend this timepiece in lavish gatherings.

Christian Dior Eight Analog CD1245E1C001

Christian Dior Eight

Want something a little bit edgy? Look at the amazing combination of black ceramic and diamonds!

Christian Dior Women’s Eight Analog Watch CD1245E1C001 also has a diamond bezel. However, it has fewer diamonds since the bezel also features black ceramic.

The alternating black ceramic squares and sets of diamonds give an illusion that the bezel has a metallic shine. This matches with the metallic bracelet.

There are additional features that make this timepiece more exciting to have. First, it has a transparent case back so you can marvel at its intricate movement. Also, it has luminescent hands so you can tell time even in the dark.

The only possible downside of this model is that some women might find it too rugged.

Joe Rodeo Rio JRO11

Luxury Diamond Watches Joe Rodeo Rio

Joe Rodeo Rio

Now, here’s a watch fit for a queen!

Joe Rodeo Rio Watch JRO11 seems too expensive because of its yellow gold and diamond combination. However, it’s actually a stainless steel watch plated with gold. This is a good thing since steel adds durability.

Even though this timepiece has a lot of bling, the whole design works because the diamonds are arranged neatly. It’s like a kaleidoscope of diamonds, which makes this watch very interesting.

As a plus, the 100-meter water resistance makes this watch even more durable in different situations. There are even sub-dials for advanced timekeeping. Overall, this timepiece is fabulous yet practical.

This watch will certainly attract a lot of attention, but it’s all up to the buyer’s preferences. If you want to flaunt it, then buy it!

Omega Constellation 123.15.24.60.55.001

Luxury Diamond Watches Omega Constellation

Omega Constellation

With the plain look of the bracelet, the beautiful bezel and dial of Omega Constellation Watch 123.15.24.60.55.001 totally have the spotlight. I think it’s a smart design to keep the watch simple despite its luxurious face.

I’ve mentioned earlier that mother-of-pearl looks so dreamy. Well, this watch proves my point. Every element on the dial simply works to catch anyone’s attention despite the overly simple bracelet.

I think the downside of this timepiece is already obvious. It’s not exactly a great accessory for dressing up.

Rolex Oyster Perpetual Lady-Datejust Watch 179384

I think Rolex Oyster Perpetual Lady-Datejust Watch 179384 looks too similar with the Omega timepiece I just discussed, but this only proves how effective it is to pair mother-of-pearl with diamonds.

The only significant difference between the two watches is the bracelet’s design. If you prefer a more intricate style, go for this timepiece. On the other hand, if you want to remain simple, feel free to choose the previous one.

Can you guess the ultimate disadvantage of this timepiece? That’s right – it’s not an ideal dress watch.

Chopard Happy Diamonds Analog-Quartz 10/4968

Chopard Happy Diamonds Analog-Quartz Female Watch 10/4968

Taking luxury to another level, Chopard Happy Diamonds Analog-Quartz Female Watch 10/4968 is all about diamonds, diamonds, and more diamonds!

Just check out the dial. Who would’ve thought that a watch dial could be entirely composed of diamonds? This is definitely an extravagant way to incorporate gemstones on a timepiece.

To be honest, I’m satisfied to see some yellow gold here because, without it, you’d be looking at a watch that’s only about texture. Yellow gold, in this case, provides depth.

Piaget Polo G0A36231

Piaget Polo Watch G0A36231

Just because a watch is more expensive doesn’t mean that it has to be fancy. Piaget Polo Watch G0A36231 is very simple, but it still has that irresistible shine from its diamond bezel and polished white gold sections.

I think this watch looks sophisticated, not to mention having a user-friendly dial for easier timekeeping. Unlike other watches here, the hour markers are complete, Arabic numerals are used, and everything’s much bigger.

If the white gold bracelet is completely polished, I think this timepiece would look even more elegant.

Bvlgari Serpenti Jewellery Watch 101787 SPW26WGD1GD1.1T

Definitely my favorite here, Bvlgari Serpenti Jewellery Watch 101787 SPW26WGD1GD1.1T is unique in every angle. The whole design is so creative without using different colors. It’s all about depth and structure.

What I like most about this watch is that you will never fumble with a buckle or clasp. Just insert your hand into the spiral bracelet, and you’re good to go! Some women might find it hard to do this, though. It could even be a hassle.

Carl F. Bucherer Alacria Diva 00.10705.02.11.13

Enough with the circular watches! Finally, here’s Carl F. Bucherer Alacria Diva Luxury Watch 00.10705.02.11.13 with its rectangular case.

The main reason why this watch looks so sophisticated is the smooth placement of diamonds. The diamonds form distinct shapes to frame the dial.

In fact, you won’t exactly see the diamonds at first sight. Instead, you’ll see an elegant shiny frame.

Of course, I have to say something about the unique strap. I think satin leather looks so beautiful. It can complement formal dresses – even gowns!

However, I would find it really difficult to track time with this watch. With the rectangular case plus absence of hour markers, this just goes to show that this timepiece is more of a fancy model.

Finally, I’m going to present nine luxury diamond watches with a comparison table.

Conclusion

Remember that there are a variety of diamond watches mostly because of the gemstones’ placement and quality as well as other materials present on the timepiece. Refresh your memory with some of these helpful points one more time:

  • A timepiece that’s full of diamonds (from its dial to its bracelet) is ideal as a dress watch.
  • However, some watches only place diamonds on their bezel and dial. They’re great for women who prefer simpler accessories.
  • Mother-of-pearl provides a dreamy effect on the watch’s dial, which complements diamond hour markers.
  • White gold is the ideal material to pair with diamonds.
  • Other materials that look good with diamonds are stainless steel, yellow gold, rose gold, and platinum.
  • Black ceramic and diamonds make a unique combination.
  • Watches typically use 0.25- and 0.5-carat diamonds. Carat refers to the weight.
  • Three cuts or shapes of diamonds are usually placed on watches. I’m talking about round, princess (square), and baguette (rectangle).
  • The round brilliant cut is ideal for decorating bezels.
  • The princess cut is perfect for hour markers.
  • The baguette cut looks great with rectangular and square cases.
